bubble_chart Etymology

"He" (鶴), crane; "ding" (頂), summit. Knee joint resembles the top of a crane's head, and this acupoint is located at the apex of patella, hence the name "Heding" (crane's summit).

On the upper part of knee, in the depression above the midpoint of the base of patella.
