bubble_chart Etymology

Ji, extreme, the most; root of nose, the lowest point. The back is Yang, which is where meridian qi is transferred, so it is called Yu. The point is located under the spinous process of the third lumbar vertebra, at the lowest point when the intestines are lying down, hence the name Xiajishu (EX-B5).

In the waist, on the posterior midline, under the spinous process of the third lumbar vertebra.

bubble_chart Anatomy

In the lumbar tendon membrane, supraspinal ligament and interspinous ligament; there are posterior branches of lumbar artery and interspinous subcutaneous venous plexus; and there are medial branches of posterior branches of lumbar nerve.

Perpendicular insertion 0.5~1 cun, local soreness and swelling. Moxibustion can be used for 3 to 7 times.
